pThe Utility Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of utility systems, including HVAC, water supply, power distribution, and gas networks. This facility will play a critical role in supporting the growing demand for advanced battery materials, enabling sustainable energy solutions for the European market. /ppWe are looking for local Spanish contractors. /ppbr/ppTasks and Responsibilities /pulliAct as technical lead for all project aspects related to HVAC and utilities /liliEnsure compliance of assigned tasks with global engineering standards across the site /liliTake full technical responsibility for construction and commissioning activities within assigned disciplines /liliDemonstrate ownership and accountability for dedicated disciplines, introducing improvements, selecting optimal solutions, and safeguarding technical and financial interests (CAPEX and OPEX) /liliLead discussions on safety, design, construction progress, cost, and other project aspects /liliMonitor and support procurement of critical equipment for investment projects /liliShare knowledge and expertise within the local Utilities Engineering team and Global Engineering Team /liliReview and provide feedback on all technical documentation (designs, as-built documentation, specifications, datasheets, material approvals, change requests, RFIs, submittals) /liliEvaluate scopes of work for future investments for completeness and technical soundness /liliAlign technical solutions with designers and ensure consultation with Asset Management and Operations departments /liliMonitor site irregularities and take corrective actions per agreed processes /liliVerify equipment supplier schedules and subcontractor progress reports /liliControl costs related to construction implementation and validate additional work proposals for technical and financial feasibility /liliIdentify and execute cost-saving opportunities through technical re-evaluation of contractor offers in collaboration with the CAPEX team /liliOptimize technical solutions, equipment, and processes with a strong focus on OPEX savings /liliCapture and implement lessons learned into future projects /liliSupport civil and construction design projects from initial planning and concept design to final implementation and testing /liliCheck detailed technical drawings, including PID diagrams, and ensure proper documentation for design processes /liliCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, vendors, and clients, to ensure seamless project execution /liliAddress technical challenges, optimize designs for performance and manufacturability, and provide solutions during development and implementation phases /li /ulpbr/ppTechnical Requirements /pulli7+ years experience within Utilities design and commissioning within an industrial engineering environment /liliExperience with AutoCad, Plant 3D, Naviswork and Autodesk /liliExperience in managing greenfield projects under EPCm and EPC contract models /liliMinimum 3 years of professional experience working on construction sites /liliSolid understanding and application of health and safety regulations /li /ulpbr/ppNon-Technical Requirements /pulliAbility to work independently and as part of a team /liliDemonstrated ability to identify, define, and resolve complex problems effectively /liliSkilled in assessing needs and driving organizational change initiatives /liliStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities /liliSelf-motivated, open-minded, and adaptable to dynamic environments /liliPositive attitude with a proactive approach to challenges and new opportunities /liliExpertise in anticipating potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies /li /ulpbr/ppAcademic Requirements /pulliBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, or a related field /li /ulpbr/ppLanguage Proficiencies /pulliFluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written /liliStrong practical English skills to read and interpret technical documents /liliAbility to conduct technical and safety discussions confidently in English /li /ulpbr/ppLocation: /pulliNorth of Spain, region of Asturia: Gijon /liliUntil end of 2026/beginning 2027 remote work, with visits to the site/partners covered via business travel expenses /liliTravel will be required inside (mainly Barcelona) and outside Spain /li /ul
