pbRole Title: /b Spanish / English Translator /ppbRole Nature: /b Voluntary (unpaid) /ppbLocation: /b Home-based /ppThe Blockchain Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteers-led think tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change. We are looking for professional VOLUNTEERS: Translators / Interpreters with excellent oral and writing skills in both English and Arabic at C1 level or higher. Translators / Interpreters may participate in translation work at events, depending on availability. BCI translators need to translate both ways, e.g., English to Arabic and Arabic to English. /ppbResponsibilities: /b /pulliReporting to the Translation Manager and providing written translation and live interpretation during meetings with foreign stakeholders; /liliTranslating minutes, reports, and formal letters; /liliAnswering language-related queries and assisting developing country service users requiring language support; /liliCollaborating with other volunteers on ad hoc projects. /li /ulpbEducation Training: /b A relevant degree or training in Languages or Communications is preferred. Excellent written and spoken English is required. /ppbRelevant Experience: /b /pulli2+ years experience as a Translator / Interpreter; /liliExperience in virtual interpretation on appropriate platforms; /liliAbility to work independently and with teams to meet deadlines. /li /ulpbSkills Abilities: /b /pulliC1 or higher proficiency in English and Spanish; /liliExperience translating between Spanish and English; /liliStrong written communication, editing, and proofreading skills; /liliAttention to detail; /liliOrganizational skills; /liliProficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; basic knowledge of Trello and Microsoft Teams. /li /ulpKnowledge of climate change, climate finance, and blockchain technology is preferred.
