Mission
The Strategic Buyer will lead the procurement of both chemical products (such as paints and coatings) and the technical components required for their application (e.g., spray systems, equipment, accessories, and related consumables). This role is critical to improving purchasing efficiency and profitability, with a strong emphasis on supplier negotiation , cost reduction , and value-driven procurement strategies .
The ideal candidate will combine commercial instinct with technical understanding, ensuring sourcing decisions align with both performance standards and financial objectives.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Negotiation
- Drive sourcing strategies for paints, coatings, application components, and technical materials.
- Lead commercial negotiations focused on discounts, volume agreements, and total cost optimization.
- Evaluate supplier offers with a cost-benefit perspective, balancing price, quality, and technical compatibility.
Supplier Management & Market Analysis
- Identify, assess, and develop suppliers aligned with product requirements and company goals.
- Perform continuous benchmarking of suppliers, materials, and market pricing trends.
- Ensure contract compliance and maintain up-to-date documentation of procurement conditions.
Technical Procurement Support
- Understand functional and technical specifications of both consumables and application equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and technical teams to define purchasing requirements.
- Validate the suitability and compatibility of sourced components within operational processes.
Cost Control & Process Optimization
- Monitor KPIs related to procurement performance, delivery reliability, and supplier cost evolution.
- Propose and implement purchasing improvements that impact the company’s margin.
- Work with finance to forecast purchasing budgets and ensure spend discipline.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles in industrial, chemical, or technical environments.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation , contract management, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Solid technical understanding of paints, coatings, and mechanical or electronic components used in application processes.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with procurement KPIs.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams.
