About The RoleAbout this opportunitySenior cost management professional responsible for managing the cost aspects of mechanical and electrical services within data centre construction project.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.Managing projects and delivering high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures.Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates and option studies.ME cost planing, budgeting, and forecasting.Cost-in-use studies.Evaluating and reporting on tenders.Valuing completed work and arranging for payments.Settling final accounts.Administrating ME contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.Producing and presenting reports to Customers.Working closely with project teams to integrate ME cost management into overall project delivery.Identifying and managing cost-related risks and opportunities in ME services.Managing service delivery for profit.Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.As a Gleeds team member, you will have access to:Opportunities to develop and grow your careerFlexible working arrangements About The CandidateWho we’re looking for:QualificationsMechanical or Electrical Engineering degree.Experience, Knowledge and Key SkillsSound ME cost management experience in large-scale construction projects, including data centres or other mission critical projects.Professional knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and installations.Knowledge of industry standards around equipment and engineering specifications relating to Data Centers.Working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.Good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasksClear and effective communication skills - both oral and writtenMethodical way of thinking and approach to workGood organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skillsAbility to absorb complex information and assess requirements readilyClear understanding of legislation impacting on building contractsAbility to work as part of a teamAvailability to travel Proficiency in English.
