pSr. Engineer, Design has strong composites processing and manufacturing experience. Responsible for all tasks pertaining to realization of parts and products in coordination with all other departments within the company. This includes manufacturing instruction creation, BOM creation/maintenance, ERP product structure, MRB experience, FAI and root cause investigations related to composites processing.br/FLSA Status : Exemptbr/Reports to : Director of Engineeringbr/Salary Range : $120,000 to $145,000br/Purpose:br/The Sr. Design Engineer supports the evaluation, review and technical planning of product requirements. This includes the documentation of product structure, configuration, evaluation and approval of necessary tools and software, development of work instructions and the communication of technical requirements and risks.br/Duties and Responsibilities:br/Strong emphasis on Composite Tool / fixture designbr/Create and maintain detailed manufacturing instructionbr/Customer requirement and specification reviewbr/Create internal composite specifications and proceduresbr/Approve drawings, Manufacturing Aides, and Engineering Ordersbr/Implement process improvements to reduce costs and cycle timesbr/Communicate changes and deviations to manufacturing by releasing revisions, red-lines and Engineering Ordersbr/PO reviewbr/Coordinate with Quality Assurance to assist first article inspectionsbr/Interface with customers on technical and program related mattersbr/MRB experience, FAI and root cause investigations related to compositesbr/ERP product structure and BOM entriesbr/Developing ply patterns and creating cut filesbr/B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineeringbr/7+ years’ experience in composite manufacturing processesbr/Skills Required:br/Understanding of mechanics and material science engineering disciplinesbr/Sound understanding of composite processingbr/Experience with common composite finishing materials and processesbr/Familiarity with Boeing and Northrop Grumman Material and Process Specifications a plusbr/Working within requirements of tier 1, Nadcap and AS 9102 composite aerospace environments as applied to configuration control, traceability, and quality processesbr/Use of GDT and common drawing practicesbr/CAD experience (preferably Solidworks and CATIA V5)br/Use of Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, Outlook and Projectbr/Working Conditions :br/Primarily office environment limited time in a shop environment.
