Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will oversee the accounting functions and reporting of our production facility, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, managing cost accounting processes, and supporting the financial decision-making process. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with production teams to drive financial efficiency and performance.Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies. Generate ad-hoc and key performance indicator reports to assist management in strategic decision making.Cost Accounting: Oversee and manage cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. Ensure accurate product costing and assist in the development of cost reduction initiatives.Budgeting Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing detailed financial analysis and insights related to production costs, labor, and overhead.Month End Closing: Participate in month end closing process, including journal entries and accounting. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making.Inventory Management: Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to monitor inventory levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and resolve discrepancies.Internal Controls: Maintain and improve internal controls related to financial transactions and reporting. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.Audit Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting and production functions. Lead or support initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or production environment being beneficial.
