Using innovative formulation and a deep understanding of how each material affects the mechanical performance, developing new materials that can take full advantage of the viscosity range capable within our VLM technology.Key responsibilities:Lead the development and formulation of innovative silicone-based thermoset resins tailored for advanced 3D printing applications.Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to refine material properties and printability, inputting suggestions for iteration of machines and materials.Design and execute experiments to optimize resin performance, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.Analyze and interpret data from material testing, iterating formulations based on findings to meet desired performance benchmarks.Stay up-to-date with advancements in silicone chemistry, photopolymerization, and additive manufacturing to drive innovation.Document research, processes, and results clearly, contributing to technical reports and IP development when applicable.Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of new materials into existing and future 3D printing platforms.About YouA background in polymer science, materials science, or chemical engineering; PhD/Master’s with strong industry experience is preferred.Deep understanding of silicone chemistry and hands-on experience in material formulation, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of what silicones can do.Thrive in collaborative RD environments but comfortable leading your own projectsAgility to trial new things rapidly , without fear for failure.Strong attention to detail and meticulous note taking.Ability to follow complex instructions and protocols accurately.Fluent in English, both in technical communication and documentation.Based in or willing to relocate to Barcelona.Why Join Supernova:This company is NOT for everyone.
