The position will require working closely with different BUs/functions of Bekaert, GSSCN (shared services) and external auditors/regulatory authorities to ensure the adherence of group/statutory accounting and reporting policies and control processes and smooth functioning between Bekaert entities and GSSCN. In scope will be more than one legal entities. Coordination with GSSCN Overall GL responsibility IFRS & Statutory Audit and Internal Audit Coordination Tax and regulatory authorities’ compliance Other tasks assigned by direct supervisor Detailed Responsibilities Coordination with GSSCN Maintaining the issue tracker to improve the efficiency of GSSCN work Acting as intermediary between GSSCN & Bekaert legal entities Resolving the issues of different employees of Bekaert and help them to understand the nature & work of GSSCN Resolving the queries of GSSCN employees by coordinating with plants. Closely monitoring the work of GSSCN to make sure the adherence of group accounting policies and control processes Escalating the issues to direct supervisor when necessary Monthly Closing of all Bekaert Entities Ensuring the all invoice bookings by GSSCN with in the given time frame Ensuring the all accruals, provisions are correctly and timely booked Ensuring the closing activities are following the closing schedules Ensuring reporting system data upload in time and publishing the package after month closing. Overall GL Responsibility Monitor & supervise delivery of GL team members of GSSCN to ensure on-time delivery of accounting services complying with standardized processes, internal control framework, and regulatory. GL activities include accounting entry, reconciliation of GL, GL management etc. Supervising & Assist in the preparation of monthly / quarterly / annual and ad hoc financial statement and regulatory report to ensure data correctness, timeliness and completeness Maintain ownership and provide specific advice & expert knowledge of GL module Provide guidance and instructions to GSSCN GL team members to ensure consistency in the execution of Bekaert policies and practices Calculate and provide monthly and quarterly accruals to GSSCN IFRS & Statutory Audit and Internal Audit Coordination Aligning with local teams and auditors on the audit plan and coordinating with the auditors to ensure the audit carried out smoothly. Coordinating with GSSCN and related departments of Bekaert for the preparation of various audit schedules required for carrying out the audit smoothly. Responsible for preparation of schedules required for notes to accounts (beyond the standard PBC templates agreed between group and EY team) Support for gap analysis between IFRS and statutory reports to the statutory auditors and providing the explanation or coordinating with local teams to provide the explanations on the auditors' questions. Tax and regulatory authorities’ compliance Keeping track on Income Tax assessments Coordination with consultant and providing the information required for Income Tax & Transfer pricing assessments Supervise the tax filing (CIT/VAT/WHT, etc.) compliant with the local tax laws. Coordinate and maintain audit documents and follow up tax auditors for on-going tax audit Cash Management Ensuring all payment and bank transactions are processes timely and accurately Preparing cash flow forecast under the guidance of financial controller/group treasury Managing the business contract with banks (process extension, update, approval), revolving credit facility and trade facility (drawdown, roll over and repayment), factoring (drawdown and settlement) following the group treasury Chart of Authorization. Updating the bank signatories based on CoA Corporate Legal compliance Ensure that the corporate housekeeping is done accurately and on time: Board and Shareholder meeting, statutory registers and minute books. Correct tracking of PoA. Legal acumen Other Tasks assigned by direct supervisor ad hoc projects like support on new entities, businesses, processes implementation. Key Relationships Internal: Head of Financial Services, Finance Controller community, VP GBS, VP Group Finance, Group Finance and FP&A teams, Country level BU Management, GBS and GSSCN teams, Centers of Expertise (Tax/Treasury/GRC), Internal Audit and Risk Management, Business Stakeholders & Site Operational Management, External: Local Regulatory authorities including Tax , External auditors, local banks. About You Degree in Management and Finance Qualified accountant with up to-date knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, Spanish Local GAAP ) 3-5 years post qualification experience, with a strong understanding of finance process, risks management and controls, Big4 experience valuable. Good knowledge of local tax, including special tax regimes, and tax accounting processes and requirements, Experience in identifying key finance risks, general ledger accounting, balance sheet controls, Strong process excellence, continuous improvement, and customer service mindset Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work well with deadlines and effectively handle multiple and concurrent demands, Experience within SAP environment and automation & digitalization would be a definite advantage.
