At ClientEarth we are hiring a Philanthropy Manager (Parental Leave Cover) to join our Madrid team and lead our major gifts programme. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of high-value donors and prospects, including individuals, corporates, trusts and foundation whilst building relationships that secure transformative support for our mission to fight climate change and protect nature. You will also work closely with our Spain Development Board, colleagues across Europe, and a growing network of supporters to deliver ambitious fundraising targets and unlock exciting opportunities across Spain and the Mediterranean. /ph3Meet your Manager /h3pIn this role you will be managed by Clea Fergusson. Clea joined ClientEarth in March 2023 and is based in Berlin. Prior to joining ClientEarth, Clea worked as a fundraiser and marketing specialist for a number of humanitarian and development non-governmental organisations (NGOs), both nationally and internationally. She has led fundraising teams and strategies in countries such as the UK, France and Germany. Through her humanitarian and development work, she has had the opportunity to hear first-hand from many communities directly affected by the climate crisis around the world. Clea graduated with honours in French and Italian from the University of Manchester and obtained her Masters in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. She holds a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the British Institute of Fundraising and speaks English, French, German and Italian. /ph3Main Duties /h3ulliManage Spain specific foundation and major donor fundraising operations including prospect research and screening, development of tracking tools, cultivation and stewardship systems /liliWork with external affairs colleagues across ClientEarth and specifically with the Philanthropy Lead, Europe and the Head of Spain and the Mediterranean to develop an effective Spanish philanthropy strategy, setting appropriate targets and identifying suitable funding sources /liliWork closely with the ClientEarth team on identifying and establishing new funding contacts and represent ClientEarth at high level events (and support the Executive team and Head of Geography in such representation) to support the development of a growing and robust pipeline of donor and funding opportunities /liliResponsible for a portfolio of donors and prospects of five and six figure gifts /liliSupport the Philanthropy Lead, Europe in coordination with the Head of Spain and the Mediterranean in the development and review of systems and procedures and as appropriate, advise on the necessary adaptation of such for the Spain fundraising programme /li /ulpSee the job description (below) for a full list of duties for this role. /ph3Role requirements /h3ulliFluent in Spanish and English (essential) /liliSignificant and demonstrable experience of working in a fundraising role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity (essential) /liliSignificant experience of fundraising in the Spanish market (desirable) /liliExperience of successfully managing the relationship with a new donor, from prospect identification through to cultivation, encompassing both personal engagement with prospects and / or coordinating the input of colleagues from across the organisation (essential) /liliKnowledge of and / or interest in environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity, air pollution (desirable) /li /ulpSee the job description (below) for a full list of requirements for this role. /ppuNote to candidates : /u We know that long lists of criteria can be daunting and that.
