As the Mobile Applications Software Architect for the Digital Health Software Team, you will partner with our product development and engineering organizations to support in building and enhancing the Diabetes Care and Digital Health products and services. The right candidate is a positive, forward-looking person who must be self-directed requiring minimal daily direction, collaborates often and effectively with project team members, presents a positive and professional demeanor with customers, and excels at solving difficult problems.You will evaluate product designs as well as complex back-end, front-end, privacy and regulatory requirements to provide technology solutions to remediate the challenges of the digital products meeting global market needs.The Mobile Applications Software Architect will participate in a full medical software development life cycle and adhere to a quality management system. Responsibilities: Create standards, approaches and technical solutions that meet stringent regulatory needs while also creating flexibility for the software-based products to grow and change over time Make smart decisions on our mobile app platform and application stacks to support multiple applications Work cross functionally to build the best high-quality experience for our patients and users Be a technical leader, expert resource to product teams and mentor to junior developers Work closely with internal and external specialists to integrate sophisticated algorithms into medical device solutions Provide clear solution documentation and lead team to follow architectural guidelines Experience and Education: BS or MS in Computer Science or related fields. 8+ years of Hands on Software Development 5+ years of developing and delivering software for medical devices Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Expert level knowledge and experience building mobile applications using Xamarin, Android or iOS Expert level knowledge and experience building scalable and performant web services with .NET, ASP.NET and related ecosystem Experience building Internet facing Web Applications with RESTful Micro Services in a Multi-tenant architecture Ability for hands on development pairing with a team member to solve difficult problems or to mentor team members Experience with Continuous Integration, Unit testing, End to end Services testing and related tools and technologies Experience building native or hybrid mobile applications Experience in modeling and graphic representations Ability to analyze and suggest areas to reduce cost and determining build versus buy strategies Familiarity, designing and building for OWASP Top 10 and other regulatory/security guidance for Mobile and Web Applications in a healthcare / regulated setting Experience integrating peripheral devices to mobile app using BLE Experience developing 'caregiver app' for following primary patient therapy data Familiarity with Apple HealthKit and other similar health app integrations on mobile About Us embecta, formerly part of BD, is one of the largest pure-play diabetes care companies in the world, leveraging its nearly 100-year legacy in insulin delivery to empower people with diabetes to live their best life through innovative solutions, partnerships and the passion of more than 2,000 employees around the globe.
