Join the Network Platform team in group CTIO as a Junior Research DesignerThe role based in Madrid (Spain) will be focused on participating in research projects for telecommunication networks with focus on edge and network platforms.The CTIO area leads network and IT technology within the Telefonica group. The position requires tight collaboration with other companies participating in research activities, European and standards institutions.As a Junior Research Engineer, you will be in charge of defining or developing new technologies in the fields of core network, edge, and service platforms.The role will involve gaining a deep understanding of key network platforms part of the current 5G architecture such as Packet core, NEF, IMS, Policy control, NWDAF, Edge and the corresponding techniques required for service development (microservices) and testing (CD CT) in order to define their evolution towards 6G.The role involves communication and coordination with other companies part of a common research consortium, and maintaining a tight relationship with the European commission and standards industry.MAIN ACTIVITIES AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITIONThe objectives of the position offered are:Define and design architecture solutions to enhance and evolve our current core network and service platforms.Collaborate within European projects driving research for core and service platforms in 6G.Shape Telefonica's proposal in order to candidate for new research activities within the European Union.Build and test proof of concepts demonstrating findings and development benefits for Telefonica group and the industry.Downstream research results and drive adoption in relevant standards and open source communities.EDUCATION REQUIREDMsC in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Networking, or any related fields.SPECIFIC SKILLSAbility to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.Team working and customer focus.Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills.Capability to interact with providers, universities, and institutions.Capability to communicate at different levels (directors, engineers, etc.) to disseminate architecture and technology propositions.Project management capabilities to keep track of research programs.Dynamic attitude, self-learner, and proactive.TECHNICAL SKILLSKnowledge in the area of core network and platforms, especially 4G and 5G mobile core network for data and communications.Knowledge in the area of APIs: REST, SOAP, YAML, SWAGGER.Knowledge of microservices containerized applications: K8s, Dockers.Knowledge of microservice integration architectures: service mesh, Istio, Kafka, API GWs.Knowledge of public cloud services and cloud architecture.Capability to understand network architectures and protocols.Capability to define ATPs/test plans and experience in testing in a lab environment.Knowledge of basic network testing tools: iPerf, Nperf, Jenkins, Robot, Github, etc.EXPERIENCEExperience in the following activities will be valuable:Telco networks: core network architecture, enablers protocols in 4G and 5G.Containers-based technology (Kubernetes) and microservices integration.Participation in European research projects.LANGUAGESEnglish and Spanish languages are mandatory.Portuguese and German will be considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
