INSPECTOR I JOB PURPOSE The Inspector I performs basic inspectionwork in petroleum, petrochemical, gas, grain, oils and fats terminals andrefineries; also performs inspection work on board barges and ships followingindustry standards and the procedures published by API, Fosfa, Gafta andSaybolt. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES InspectorI, shall assistother inspectors from the department and Account Managers in his responsibilityduties of the location. InspectorsI, are responsible for the efficient work within the location, so that he canmeet client needs accurately and in time. InspectorsI, may work at different locations and on offshore operations as requested bythe company. Thefunctions to be developed by the Inspectors, are mainly included within theport activity and sometimes offshore on high seas, so that the development andfulfillment of the functions of the description of each Job, including thespecific service of standby, constitute a function of the job and are carriedout within the ordinary working day, aslong as they are carried out as effective working time. Isresponsible for and takes care of running the operation at the lowest possiblecosts, while meeting the requirements for safety, quality of service andmaintenance of assets. Inspector I must ensure full cooperation with hisdepartment and his Managers on all assignments. Mustfollow all company procedures as established by Saybolt and Core Laboratories,including but not limited to HSE Manual, Accounting Policies & Procedures,Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy,Saybolt Compliance Code, etc. Must keephimself updated and aware of all updates and act accordingly. Inspectors I, reportsdirectly to Inspection Account Managers. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual mustbe able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or experience: A high school diploma or equivalent (general education degree). 1 year as an Inspector or related experience. Good verbal and written knowledge of local language and English. Proficient user of MS Office. Job Knowledge: Allkind of possible samplings & measurements. Capable to perform any kind ofInspection vessel and shore with a supervision of a higher level Inpector orAccount Manager. Mathematicalskills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inall units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, orweight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables. Social skills: Good communication skills. Able to work independently. Team building skills. COMPETENCIES Jobs requiring autonomous execution, usuallyreasoning initiative by the workers responsible for their execution, actingunder supervision, the responsibility for them, may be helped by one or moreother employees, as well as the basic use of English language needed to performthe job. High Supervision of the performed jobs by high level Inspector and orAccount Managers. Performvisual cleanliness inspections of tanks including entering confined spaces. Verifythe accuracy of measurement and sampling equipment. Worksafely in the presence of hazardous materials as defined in the appropriateMaterial Safety Data Sheets. Takeproduct measurements and samples; accurately and promptly perform relatedcalculations; complete required reports and forms clearly and promptly; performinventories; do non-petroleum or chemical inspection assignments. Performother inspection department duties assigned by the Manager or Coordinator. Exerciseprocedural, safety and quality requirements specified in Saybolt proceduresmanuals, the Global Safety Manual, and Core Laboratories/Saybolt companypolices. Attendtraining and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical, Fosfa, Gaftaand gas inspection procedures, including Right-to-Know training, hazardousmaterials transportation, and other safety training required by applicableregulations. Gainknowledge of basic and advanced laboratory procedures through cross training inlaboratory. Maintainall material and installations in clean and good condition at every moment.Performsample disposal and take under control the stocks of the materials needed toperform his job. OTHER INFORMATION Certificates, licenses and registrations: Inspectors must have a vehicle in good, safe operating condition that can be used on the job for both personal and sample transportation in all ambient weather conditions.Vehicles used for sample transportation must be able to accommodate the secondary sample containers issued for sample transportation. Inspectors are required to maintain the proper levels of automobile liability insurance and meet all state requirements on vehicles used for Saybolt assignments. Inspectors must also maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Local travel and occasional out-of-town assignments are required. Physical demands: The physical demands described here arerepresentative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully performthe essential functions of this job. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 Kilograms, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 Kilograms.
