Title: Innovation and Technology Transfer Manager

Department: iHUB (Santiago de Compostela or Vigo location)

Summary of the role:

The role of the Innovation and Technology transfer Manager will focus in:

• the coordination, management and execution of tech transfer activities included in the framework of EU, national and regional R&D and innovation public funding schemes as well as related with the Galician innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
• the monitoring, writing, definition and application of innovation and tech transfer project proposals in different thematic areas, including exploitation strategies, business plans, IPR management.
• the attraction of business opportunities and participation in innovation initiatives.

The successful candidate will collaborate with external partners (scientific community, start-up ecosystem and industry partners) from different research areas and countries and will contribute to the institutional positioning of FEUGA within the regional and international innovation ecosystem.

This position requires knowledge on public-private funding ecosystems at regional, national and international levels, technical writing skills, strong commercial and strategic-thinking profile, teamwork and adaptability to multidisciplinary and multilanguage environments, as well as, working with tight deadlines and multi-tasking.

TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES:

• To manage IPR and exploitation of results in national & international R&D projects.
• To evaluate new technologies/innovations to potential transfer through external networks.
• To perform business opportunity scouting and commercialization activities to support FEUGA iHUB department leading commercial operations at regional, national and international level.
• Active involvement in FEUGA’s strategy towards the entrepreneurship ecosystem support and technological transfer activities promotion giving support to the Head of Unit.
• To participate in events, seminars, conferences at regional, national and European Level to find new collaboration opportunities.
• To manage relations among innovation ecosystem members requiring FEUGAs Innovation services (Universities, RTOs, start-ups, industry).

REQUIREMENTS

· STEM or ICT BsC (PhD, MBA or RTTP certification will be appreciated).

· >3 years of experience in innovation related positions (management, promotion, technological transfer, IP management, product development).

· Knowledge about EU, national and regional R&D&i funding programmes.

· Strong analytical skills and ability to explain complex concepts to different audiences.

· Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English (C1 equivalent), both oral and writing. Other languages will be appreciated.

· Proactive and responsible. Relation building capabilities. Able to organize work within established deadlines. Effective communication & negotiation skills

· Travel availability and driving license.

Valuable knowledge

• Technological Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence.
• R&D and entrepreneurs consulting services (Tech commercialization and licensing, Innovation strategies, Tech scouting, IP portfolios management, Investment analysis).
• Experience with SME innovation funding programmes (e.g. EIE, EIC Accelerator, i3, etc.)
