Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can manage core accounting activities, ensure compliance with IFRS, and contribute expertise in tax and treasury functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow monitoring and bank reconciliations.
  • Support tax compliance and filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure accuracy of related transactions.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices for accounting controls.
  • Work closely with other finance team members to support cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or similar qualification preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a general ledger, accounting, or similar role.
  • Proven knowledge of IFRS and strong technical accounting skills.
  • Hands-on experience with tax compliance and treasury operations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive, driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
