pRole Summary: To ensure the safe planning and reduction of operating cost of vessels as part of the Operation team, and to provide a professional link between Vessels Master, Line Management, terminals and agents in regard to all operational and capacity matters. /ppEmployment Type: Permanent /ppReports to: Functional reporting line to Head of Operations. Matrix reporting line to Hub Management (Director / GM / Deputy GM) /ppRole and Responsibilities: /ppYou will assist a Line Manager (LM) on the daily operational commercial aspects, including: /pulliAssist Line Management in vessel selection with reference to loadability and operational suitability in specific trade areas. /liliExecution of Voyage instructions to new chartered vessels and ensure that operational procedures are followed by the vessel throughout the charter. /liliMaximize vessel stowage based on CBF declared with minimum shut out / restows due to stowage issues, with equal crane split to optimise cargo operations and without impeding on vessel safety. /liliClosely monitor SMART system to minimise pending reports and delayed submission. Ensure SMART tracking is accurate. Assist LM with monitoring of Alerts to ensure vessels are always following instructions. /liliVessels movement monitoring via platforms. /liliAdvise planned draft and load ability for draft restricted ports. /liliScreen DG / OOG requests and ensure strict compliance with the in-house DG exclusion list unless a valid exception has been authorised. /liliApprove D/As with cooperation with LMs. /liliMonitor tug usage on the arrival / departure reports and raise queries with Master / Assist Operations Manager (AOM) where excess tug usage is spotted. /liliMonitor SDR’s closely to ensure initial action is taken and terminals are put on notice. AOM, LM/ Legal is correctly informed in case the SDR becomes a claim. /liliAssist LM with PRF management to control and streamline such costs. /liliUpdate forecast and utilization details. /li /ulpAdditional responsibilities include: /pulliSupport current Business Transformation initiatives as and when required concerning EDI integration with terminals, customers and development of internal procedures relating specifically to areas of expertise. /li /ulpRequirements: /pulliMinimum Diploma in Maritime Studies / University graduate or equivalent. /liliMinimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in shipping operation. /liliEffective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues across departments and various internal external stakeholders. /liliProficient in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Power Point) /liliAbility to focus on tasks and analyses situations, systems, and problems. /liliAble to work in fast paced and dynamic environment. /liliProficiency in the English language, both verbal and written. /li /ulpJoin our team and be part of an exciting journey towards personal and professional growth to make a real impact on global trade.
