About the role: Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Corporate Development, you will be a highly visible member of the Corporate Development team, providing first-rate representation of the company in external settings and positioning Pharmanovia as the global partner of choice for innovative, orphan and value-added medicines. You will create a best-in-class alliance management framework that builds true strategic partnerships that deliver and stand the test of time. Working cross-functionally you will be the primary point of contact for Strategic Partners and will serve as their voice, representing their views across the organisation and championing their needs. Your work will start prior to deal signature and continue for the life of the partnership, ensuring that we holistically deliver across all business imperatives and contractual elements. You will typically work with licensors and strategic divestment partners to manage and deliver the business relationship. From implementing the transaction alongside the PMO (Project Management Office), to forming and chairing steering committees, to managing day-to-day interactions and ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled. You will also be involved with and support our B2B conference activity. This is an exciting role that will have you working with counterparties from San Francisco to Tokyo (and everywhere in between), ensuring the successful delivery of transactions and partnerships that will bring innovative treatments to patients across the world, as well as providing you with a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the world’s leading advisory practices and consultants. Create an Alliance Management framework that ensures both the delivery of transactions and provides a level of service to Strategic Partners that is truly best-in-class; Manage and build relationships with Strategic Partners that deliver strong global alliances that naturally expand in time to cover additional markets and products; Work closely with external partners and internal stakeholders to understand and operationalise licensing agreements and other such agreements/partnerships as assigned; Proactively identify risks and challenges, and effectively escalate issues in a timely manner; Facilitate productive joint steering committee meetings, including meeting preparation, scheduling, documentation and communication of the outcomes (agenda, minutes etc.); Track, monitor and communicate contractual obligations and deliverables to ensure responsibilities are met in accordance with the agreement and the partners expectations (development timelines, delivery of reports, governance meetings, milestone payments etc.); Negotiate follow-up contractual amendments to existing agreements; Coordinate with internal functions and stakeholders to facilitate ongoing and proactive relationships with external partners, ensuring strong internal alignment and on time delivery of key activities; Ensure proper project handover from Corporate Development lead to PMO and the wider business; Support Corporate Development when initiating new partnerships (licensing, acquisition, development) and with our attendance at conferences; Meet with licensing partners, biotech developers and other industry stakeholders to present Pharmanovia as a partner of choice; Represent Pharmanovia at external meetings, conferences and seminars to further develop ongoing alliances and develop our external network. May serve as Pharmanovia’s representative at such events. About you: Candidates with at least seven years of alliance management/business development experience within pharmaceuticals, as well as some line management experience, are likely to have the skills required to be successful in this role. We are also looking for: Postgraduate degree in business, law or a project management discipline 7+ years’ experience in alliance management/business development 10+ years’ experience within pharmaceuticals Very strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to multi-task, prioritise and deliver in a high-pressured environment Strong organisational skills to establish priorities including scheduling and meeting deadlines Experience managing cross-functional teams; able to lead via influence vs. line authority Ability to build rapport with global multi-cultural teams and partners Excellent critical thinking skills; ability to make quantitative and qualitative assessments and recommend what is best for Pharmanovia Track record of forming and operating successful specialty pharmaceutical alliances Please note that some travel will be required as part of this role to attend conferences, partner meetings and the UK Head Office.
