Position: Claims Handler for Italy

About the role:

The Claims Handler will support the manager in handling Italian claims related to different lines of business: Marine, Property, and Liability, emanating from a Japanese portfolio. The candidate will report to the Deputy Claims Manager in Belgium, with the office based in Barcelona.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handling P&C Marine claims for Japanese business as follows:
2. Collecting the whole documentation provided by brokers or clients;
3. Checking the wording for assessing the coverage;
4. Appointing a surveyor if necessary;
5. Informing the manager of any development;
6. Preparing the settlement proposal;
7. Recording all the data in different systems and databases;
8. Collaborating with colleagues in different departments & business partners.

Skills And Competencies Required:

• University degree
• At least 2+ years of previous experience in the insurance industry
• Experience in the Italian market
• Native proficiency in Italian and fluent in English
• Good knowledge of Excel and databases
• Commitment to precision with a strong focus on detail-oriented and methodological approach
• Experience working within an international environment

Skills And Competencies Preferred:

• Professional proficiency in Spanish
