About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our finance department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires a proactive and organized professional with excellent leadership skills to drive efficiency and maintain the highest standards of financial integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and set development goals for team members.
  • Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable, including the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, reconciliations and expense reports.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in all aspects of invoice processing.
  • Review and approve payment batches, coordinating with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving inquiries and discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with procurement to streamline processes and improve vendor relations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal controls.
  • Generate regular reports on accounts payable metrics, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Assist in external audits by providing accurate and organized financial records.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar position.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Rights to work in Spain.
  • Ability to commute to our office location every day.
