We are hiring an Accountant for a leading multinational in the chemical sector in Barcelona !

What will you do in this role?

• Execute the month-end closing process in SAP, following IFRS standards and internal accounting guidelines.
• Analyze cost and margin variances, performing adjustments and system corrections.
• Review and analyze Plant and Regional SG&A fixed costs on a monthly basis.
• Post month-end journal entries: provisions, reclassifications, accruals, revenue recognition, etc.
• Handle payroll-related entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports in compliance with local requirements (Intrastat, VAT, statistical reports…).
• Carry out accounting procedures related to fixed assets, CAPEX, and daily cash application.
• Support external audit processes by documenting all monthly closing activities

What do you need to succeed?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Fluent in English (mandatory). Additional European languages (French, Polish, Finnish, or Spanish) are a plus.
