We have partnered with a Big 4 audited international business, headquartered in the UK, to recruit an Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Barcelona. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounting to make a real impact in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
As the Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to key financial decisions. You will be involved in a wide range of accounting functions, collaborating closely with the Head of Finance, and gaining exposure to both operational and strategic aspects of financial management.
Location : Barcelona, Spain
Salary : €30,000
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger management and maintenance.
- Handle Accounts Payable, ensuring timely processing of payments.
- Oversee Purchase Orders and review related invoices.
- Perform Bank Reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow records.
- Ensure Tax Compliance & Reporting, in line with local and international regulations.
- Support Month-End/Year-End Processing to ensure timely reporting.
- Prepare Financial Statements in compliance with company standards.
- Track and manage Expenses & Capital Expenditure.
- Provide Financial Reporting and assist in Budgeting & Forecasting.
- Offer Audit Support and collaborate with external advisors (suppliers, auditors, tax specialists).
The Ideal Candidate:
- Accounting qualification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
- Exposure to working with external advisors (suppliers, auditors, tax authorities).
- Previous experience in a multinational environment is desirable.
- Fluent in Spanish (both written and spoken) is essential; English language skills are a plus.
